  • Central – 01 (5 nights/6 days)

    Day #1 Drive to lake of Ugii from Ulaanbaatar
    Ugii lake, locates on the centre of Mongolia, in the territory, of the Arkhangai province is one of the biggest lakes of Mongolia and has 27 km squire area. Average depth is 6.64m, in some sections 15.3m, coastal length is 23.5m. Delicate sand and whetstone coast, the soft wave and it is very convenient to have boat adventure. There are 150 sorts of extremely rare and rare species birds of passage come to settle down on the “Ugii” lake. Also the “Ugii” lake has 14 sorts of fish belonged to the North Atlantic ocean area such as Esoc lucius, Rutilus lacustrisl, Perca fluviatilis, leucisous idus, Cyprinus carpio haematopterus, Parassius auratus gibelio, lota, Leuciscus baicalensis, Phoxinus pall, Phoxinus peronurus, Barbatula, toni, Cobitus taenia sibisica and has plenty of fish reserves.

    Day #2 Drive to White lake /Terkhiin tsagaan nuur/
    Khorgo Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake National Park is one of the most beautiful national parks with its extinct volcanoes, fresh water lakes, rapid current rivers and forested mountains. The Terkhiin Tsagaan, a fresh water lake was formed after lava flow from the volcanos blocked the north and south Terkh Rivers. The areas surrounding the volcanoes are covered with thick basalt.

    Day #3 Drive to Tsenkher hot spring
    Tsenher is a natural hot spring flows out whole year from the ground at 85 Celsius degree, country’s second hottest, in mountainous Central Mongolia. It is located 1860m a.s.l and in 480 km from Ulaanbaatar capital city, 28 km south of Tsetserleg town in Arkhangai province and 22 km south west Tsenkher village.

    Day #4 Drive to Taikhar rock, Chuluut river, Orkhon waterfall
    The rock has a large number of inscriptions, over 150, in various scripts including Turkish, Uighar, Mongolian, Tibetan, Manchu, Sogda and Chinese too. The purpose and meaning of inscriptions are various types but usually for blessings, praises and sometimes referred ancient poems.
    The Orkhon river, longest river in Mongolia, begins at the state worshipped mountain Suvraga Khairkhan in the Khangai range. The drainage basin of the river is 132835sq km. The river is 10-60 m wide to begin with but it becomes 120-150m around the end and the speed of the river flow decreases. There are many rocks and boulders around the river as well as some waterfalls like a small waterfall with 4-5 m height and the Ulaan tsutgalan waterfall- biggest in Mongolia at a height of 20m. The Orkhon river Valley has been protected since 2006 as a National Park.

    Day #5 Drive to Mongol els dune / Little Gobi/, Khugnukhaan mountain
    This 80km sand dune is situated in a terrain of Uvurkhangai, Bulgan and Tuv Aimag, stretching westside of Mount Khugnu Khan from west of Mount Batkhaan. The main road separates the sand dune into two parts, Mongol Els on the south and Khugnu Tarnyn Els on the north. The sand is sodden under its surface; that allows shrubberies such as willow, elm and dogwood, grow in the area. There are many tourist camps around the sight. Elsen Tasarkhai is surrounded by Mount Khugnu Khan on the north and Mount Ikh Mongol on the south.

    The Khorgo volcano became extinct 6000-8000 years ago. It is considered the last of Mongolia’s over 300 volcanoes to became extinct. The Khorgo is not only the volcano in the vicinity, there are several more, but it is the biggest one.

    Day #7 Drive back to Ulaanbaatar
    Today is a last day we will be in the beautiful countryside. On the way back to Ulaanbaatar we will visit to Hustai national park.

    Hustai National Park is one of the well known and prestigious special protected areas in Mongolia. The park is about 100 km from the capital city of Ulaanbaatar to the west.

    The HNP covers 50,600 ha land which is home to 459 species of vascular plants, 85 species of lichens, 90 species of moss and 33 species of mushrooms. 44 species ofmammals have been recorded, including Red deer, Mongolian gazelle, Roe deer, Wild boar, Wild sheep, Ibex, Mongolian marmots, Grey wolves, Lynx, Pallas cat, Red fox,Corsac fox and Eurasian badger. The 217 species of birds include Golden eagle, Lammergeier, Great bustard, Whooper swan, Black stork, Daurian partridge and Little owl. There are 16 species of fish, 2 species of amphibians, and 385 species of insects (including 21 species of ants, 55 species of butterflies, 10 species of bush crickets and 29 species of grasshoppers). A new species of soil insect has been found in the Hustai and given the scientific name of Epidamaeus khustaiensis.
    Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. We will visit famous museum of the Mongolia and have a great dinner. Then take a rest well.

    Day#1 Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and Drive to Kharkhorin / Ancient city of Mongolia/, Erdenezuu monastery
    We will welcome to you at the airport/railway station. If its need, prepare for the tour in short time.
    Kharkhorin is located at the lower end of the upper valley of the Orkhon River which is included within UNESCO’s World Heritage Site Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape. The location marks the easternmost foothills of the Khangai Mountains, where they meet the rolling steppe of central Mongolia.
    The Erdene Zuu Monastery is probably the earliest surviving Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. It is part of the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site.
    Abtai Sain Khan, ruler of the Khalkh Mongols and grandfather of Zanabazar, the first Jebtsundamba Khutuktu, ordered construction of the Erdene Zuu monastery in 1585 after his meeting with the 3rd Dalai Lama and the declaration of Tibetan Buddhism as the state religion of Mongolia. Planners attempted to create a surrounding wall that resembled a Tibetan Buddhist rosary featuring 108 stupas but this objective was probably never achieved. The monastery was damaged in 1688 during one of the many wars between Dzungars and Khalkh Mongols. Locals dismantled the wooden fortifications of the abandoned monastery. It was rebuilt in the 18th century and by 1872 had a full 62 temples and housed up to 1000 monks.

    Day #8 Drive to Ongi monastery
    Our adventure will continue to Ongi monastery and Ongi river. Ongi Monastery was one of the biggest monasteries in Mongolia. The monastery was destroyed during the socialist purge of the 1930s. The ruins of the monasteries involve a huge area. Visit a new active temple, a ger museum and explore the monastery ruins.

    Day #9 Drive to Khongor sand dunes
    This is a Mongolian largest sand dune reaching a height of 800 meter in some highest areas. The sand dunes in Sevrei sum, South Gobi aimag, are called Khongoryn Els. These dunes are 20 km wide and 100 km long. The Khongoryn River flows along the sand dunes and gives birth to oases. The sand dune change the color with each hour of one day, from yellow to silver to rise colored at dawn / sundown. This dune is considered one of the biggest dunes with it is length of 180 km and width of 3-5 km. The dunes make sound like plane engine in a windy day so it has been named as “Singing Dunes”.

    Day #10 Drive to The Gobi Gurban Saikhan Mountain National Park, visit Vulture mouth (Yolin am)
    The “Gobi Gurban Saikhan” literally means “Three beautiful mountains in the Gobi”. It’s one of the natural secret of Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park and beautiful deep canyon with many rocky cliffs, has been created by many years of water erosion.
    The Yoliin Am (Vulture Valley), a protected site in 1965, is 62 km north west of Dalanzadgad.
    Yolin am is a narrow and jagged canyon, which functions as an oase in the surrounding desert. Rainfall in summer may create hundreds of little waterfalls along the walls. The place has turned into a very rich habitat especially for birds. As the largest species, bearded vultures have settled on top of the cliffs, and give the canyon its name.

    Day #11 Drive to Bayanzag saxaul forest and Flaming cliffs
    Our adventure will continue to Flaming Cliff. This scenic place once was cemetery of dinosaurs and is renowned by the discovery of the first dinosaur eggs in the world. Our next stop is at Bayanzag. Bayanzag literally means “Rich in saxaul trees”. This tree only grows in central Asian Gobi. The tree is always green even in very dry summers. It supports nomads’ animals with emergency feed in some very dry summers.

    Day #12 Drive to Baga gazriin chuluu
    Ikh gazriin chuluu and Baga gazriin chuluu in Dundgovi province. These are unique rocky mountains They spread out from west to east covering about 20 kilometers. There are many interesting stories about local historic people who had lived or had been hidden in caves from the royalties of that time. Today will be a special day for you to get first impression about Mongolian Gobi desert and the first night staying in a famous Mongol Ger.

    The rock has a large number of inscriptions, over 150, in various scripts including Turkish, Uighar, Mongolian, Tibetan, Manchu, Sogda and Chinese too. The purpose and meaning of inscriptions are various types but usually for blessings, praises and sometimes referred ancient poems.
    The waterfall is situated in the historically significant Orkhon valley, whose river flow an incredible 1120km journey to the north before it joins the mighty Selenge River. It cascades from an impressive height of 20 meters and its width is 10 meters. The waterfall was formed by a unique combination of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes about 20,000 years ago. The fall is naturally impressive after a heavy rain.
    Ulaantsutgalan waterfall is the biggest waterfall in Mongolia.

    Day #4 Drive to Tsenkher hot spring
    Tsenher is a natural hot spring flows out whole year from the ground at 85 Celsius degree, country’s second hottest, in mountainous Central Mongolia. It is located 1860m a.s.l and in 480 km from Ulaanbaatar capital city, 28 km south of Tsetserleg town in Arkhangai province and 22 km south west Tsenkher village.

    Day #5 Drive to White lake /Terkhiin tsagaan nuur/
    Khorgo Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake National Park is one of the most beautiful national parks with its extinct volcanoes, fresh water lakes, rapid current rivers and forested mountains. The Terkhiin Tsagaan, a fresh water lake was formed after lava flow from the volcanos blocked the north and south Terkh Rivers. The areas surrounding the volcanoes are covered with thick basalt.

    Day #6 Horse riding around White lake /Terkhiin tsagaan nuur/ and Horgiin togoo volcano
    The Khorgo volcano became extinct 6000-8000 years ago. It is considered the last of Mongolia’s over 300 volcanoes to became extinct. The Khorgo is not only the volcano in the vicinity, there are several more, but it is the biggest one.

    Day #9 Start horse riding trip around the lake

    Day #13 Drive to Amarbayasgalant monastery
    Amarbayasgalant Khiid was originally built between 1727 and 1737 by the Manchu emperor Yongzheng, and dedicated to the great Mongolian Buddhist and sculptor, Zanabazar, whose mummified body was moved here in 1779. The monastery is in the Chinese style, down to the inscriptions, symmetrical layout and imperial color scheme.

    Day #14 Drive back to Ulaanbaatar and take rest
