  • Khukh lake tour (9 nights/10 days)

“Khukh Nuur” in the Khar Zurkh mountain is a beautiful place located in Tsenhermandal soum, Khentii aimag, Mongolia. Besides being a beautiful nature, the place is unique due to the fact that the most important event of history of Mongolia took place here. At this very place, 800 years ago or in 1189, Temujin came to the throne of Mongolia and was given the honorific title of “Chinggis Khan”, meaning supreme or great.
Therefore this place is closely linked to the life of great Chinggis Khan. The great contribution of Chinggis Khan to unify all the Mongol aimags and establish an empire that streched from Black sea to the Pacific ocean and Siberia to Tibet started from this place. Probably because Chinggis Khan had chosen this place as the starting point, he succeeded to establish such a great empire.
“Khukh Nuur” in the Khar Zurkh mountain is a beautiful fresh water lake located at 1675 metres above sea level. The surrounding areas of the lake are forest mountain which together form one of the most attractive places in Mongolia.

  • Kharkhorin tour (4 nights/5 days)

Kharkhorum: In 1220 Chinggis Khaan decided to build the capital city of his vast Mongolian empire at Kharkhorin.  There is virtually nothing left of Kharkhorum; the modern and fairly dreary town of Kharkhorin was built on the same spot. But it is the remains of Kharkhorum, and the restored temple at Erdene Zuu monastery, which justifiably attract visitors (Lonely Planet book)
Little Gobi (Mongol els) As you approach the border of Uvurkhangai from Ulaanbaatar, one surprising sight which livens up a fairly boring stretch of road are the Mongol Els sand dunes. If you don’t have the time to visit to the GOBI (where there are not a lot sand dunes anyway), these are certainly worth wandering around. (from Lonely Planet book).
Khogno Khan mountain: Peak of Khogno Khan mountain is 1967m. Beautiful rocky mountain and nice view point for around area especially during the sunset time.

We will drive to Elsen tasarkhai from Ulaanbaatar. We will stay for other nights in that local family. Riding camel and sightseeing around area.

Day #2 Horse riding Mongol els dune / Little Gobi/, Khugnukhaan mountain
This 80km sand dune is situated in a terrain of Uvurkhangai, Bulgan and Tuv Aimag, stretching westside of Mount Khugnu Khan from west of Mount Batkhaan. The main road separates the sand dune into two parts, Mongol Els on the south and Khugnu Tarnyn Els on the north. The sand is sodden under its surface; that allows shrubberies such as willow, elm and dogwood, grow in the area. There are many tourist camps around the sight. Elsen Tasarkhai is surrounded by Mount Khugnu Khan on the north and Mount Ikh Mongol on the south.
    Accommodation: ger camp. (B+L+D)
Day #3 Drive to Kharkhorin / Ancient city of Mongolia/, Erdenezuu monastery
Kharkhorin is located at the lower end of the upper valley of the Orkhon River which is included within UNESCO’s World Heritage Site Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape. The location marks the easternmost foothills of the Khangai Mountains, where they meet the rolling steppe of central Mongolia. The Erdene Zuu Monastery is probably the earliest surviving Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. It is part of the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site. Abtai Sain Khan, ruler of the Khalkh Mongols and grandfather of Zanabazar, the first Jebtsundamba Khutuktu, ordered construction of the Erdene Zuu monastery in 1585 after his meeting with the 3rd Dalai Lama and the declaration of Tibetan Buddhism as the state religion of Mongolia.  Planners attempted to create a surrounding wall that resembled a Tibetan Buddhist rosary featuring 108 stupas but this objective was probably never achieved. The monastery was damaged in 1688 during one of the many wars between Dzungars and Khalkh Mongols. Locals dismantled the wooden fortifications of the abandoned monastery. It was rebuilt in the 18th century and by 1872 had a full 62 temples and housed up to 1000 monks.
